Dab Rigs 101
Before the development of dab rigs for concentrates, members of the smoking community would attach a nail into a bong meant for flower, resulting in an unpleasant inhale. Luckily, times have changed and you can conveniently buy dab rigs online. A dab pipe includes a nail, which is like a bowl, except it is often made with quartz, ceramic, or titanium to withstand high temperatures. The other essential element of a dab pipe is the appropriately named dabber. This tool, typically metal, glass, or ceramic, is used to apply oil to the nail. How to Use a Dab Rig
Using a dab rig is a simple four-step process.
Step one: Heat the nail using a torch, similar to a creme brûlée torch, until it is red hot (ideal temperature is 350 to 400-degrees Fahrenheit).
Step two: Allow the nail to cool for 10 to 45 seconds, depending on the material of the nail. This creates a smoother hit.
Step three: Apply the concentrate onto the nail using the dabber.
Step four: Apply the carb cap and inhale.
