Glass City Water Pipes 101
Before purchasing a water pipe bong, it is important to understand bongs are used for dry herbs. Bongs (or glass water pipes) are typically tall with an opening at the top, include a bowl, and have a base that can be filled with water. Dab rigs for concentrates also utilize water and possess a similar shape, but are smaller and include a nail. Because smoke from dry herbs takes longer to dissipate than vapor from concentrates, the smoke can travel farther, thus the bigger size of a water pipe.
The high quality bongs offered through Glass City Pipes are equipped with a removable or fixed diffused downstem to filter smoke, either as the single filtration method or in addition to a percolator. Taller bongs sometimes also come with an ice pinch (also known as an ice catcher), which holds ice in the tube of the water pipe to cool the smoke, creating a smoother, crisper, and more refreshing hit.
Many water pipe bongs also include internal percolators to filter combustible toxins, which results in cleaner, smoother smoke. There are many different percolators available on the market, and each creates a unique smoking and filtration experience. We do our best to carry as many styles as we can.
